Building something from the beginning
Starting a new football team is about much more than putting eleven players on a pitch.
It is about creating identity, opportunity and a sense of belonging.
That is exactly what the team behind Great Wakering Rovers Women is working to build as the new side prepares for the 2026/27 season.
The ambition goes beyond one team. The project is designed to create a pathway into adult football for local female players and build something sustainable for the community.
When TagLink saw the story, we wanted to help.
TagLinks for the full squad
We provided TagLink products for the entire team.
They give players and families a simple way to protect the bags, kit and belongings that travel with them to training sessions and matches throughout the season.
If something is left behind, whoever finds it can scan the QR code and send the owner a secure message.
No app. No finder account. No personal contact details displayed.
It is a small practical addition, but across a full squad and a busy season, those small things can make life easier for players, parents, coaches and volunteers.
More than lost kit
For us, this partnership represents something bigger than recovering belongings.
Grassroots clubs are built by people giving their time, energy and enthusiasm to create opportunities for others.
When Lou and the Great Wakering team asked businesses to support the launch, their message was about building something special.
