Designed with privacy and safeguarding in mind

TagLink was created to provide a simple way for lost items to be returned without displaying personal contact information on bags or belongings.

This makes the system particularly suitable for environments such as schools, sports teams and youth organisations.

No personal details on items

Traditional lost property labels often include a child’s name, phone number or email address printed directly on bags or equipment.

TagLink avoids this.

Each tag simply contains a unique QR code that links to a secure return form.

The finder can send a message to the owner without seeing their contact details.

Minimal personal data

TagLink is intentionally designed to minimise personal data.

The only personal information required to activate a tag is:

• an email address
• a name (optional, used only to personalise notifications)

No phone numbers, addresses or location data are required.

The email address is used solely to notify the owner if their item is found.

No tracking

TagLink does not track the location of items or users.

The system only sends a notification when a finder voluntarily submits a message through the return form.

No marketing use of data

Email addresses associated with TagLink tags are used only for lost-and-found notifications.

TagLink does not send marketing emails, newsletters or promotional messages to tag owners.

Suitable for youth organisations

Because TagLink avoids placing personal contact details on belongings, it can help reduce the risk of personal information being visible on items used by children.

This approach aligns well with safeguarding practices used by schools, clubs and youth groups.

The system allows communication to take place without displaying personal contact details publicly.

Secure processing

Messages sent through the TagLink system are processed using secure automation services that route notifications to the tag owner’s email address.
